Ayomide S
Ayomide S from Clarksville, Maryland has been awarded a $24,000 Trajectory Foundation HBCU scholarship to attend Spelman College in the Fall of 2026 where she will major in Health Sciences. We were beyond impressed with Ayo’s already burgeoning resume which reflects her work ethic and drive to make a difference in her community. She has spent the last several years researching healthcare disparities through her high school’s Advanced Research Program. She’s worked as an EMT and seen first-hand how a “lack of access and trust in healthcare leads people to end up in emergency situations that could have been prevented.” Her internship with her County Executive’s Office taught her what public service looks like in real time. In that internship she supported an initiative aimed at reducing ER overcrowding by creating a clearer way for residents to access appropriate care resources. Ayo’s passion for dance and family came through clearly as we got to know her in our selection process. Congratulations Ayo!
