It is almost back to school time, and as such it is the time of year I send fall scholarship payments to universities.  This was the biggest scholarship award cycle in our brief history.  14 scholarship payments across 8 different HBCUs totaling $35,000!  I know I say this in every communication, but it is true:  The impact of these payments is entirely due to your donations and generosity.

Below are highlights of a new student we funded this summer and an open letter thanking Trajectory donors from Shy P., a rising sophomore at North Carolina A&T.  The full profile and letter take only 90 seconds to read on our website.

Finally, just one ask of the Trajectory donor community.  I would greatly appreciate each of you passing along your support of Trajectory Foundation to friends and family.  We need to expand our donor base to continue to increase our impact on these students.  A donor has stepped forward to match any donation FROM A NEW DONOR until October 31st, up to $10,000.  I’ll put this on offer on social media in the coming days – just wanted to ask for your help to spread the word.

Our application process is concrete:  Apply in February and March of each year to be considered for a scholarship.

That was until I met Kyleigh B this summer through a connection from one of our donors.  Her sheer determination to be successful in college and beyond jumped out during our conversations this summer.  She attends Clark Atlanta University and becomes our 6th student funded this year, bringing our total to 14 students currently funded.

“It (the Trajectory Scholarship) was a major source of support and final push in me being able to attend a college of genuine interest without having a huge financial burden placed on my family. In a way it solidified what seemed to be impossible becoming possible, especially as a first-generation college student.”

That’s just an excerpt of a thank you letter we received from Shy P., a student at North Carolina A&T.
