Trajectory Foundation is proud to announce that Dominique M from Huntsville, Alabama as the 2020 winner of our scholarship.   Dominque has now graduated from Mae Jemison High School and will attend Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama as a Political Science major, with the intent of becoming an attorney to affect positive change for her community.

Dominique has an incredible spirit of determination and has followed her grandmother’s advice that “no matter how much you have, you have enough to give back to your community and humanity.” Dominque has volunteered at the Manna House, Big Spring Nursing Home, and the Special Olympics.  She was the Captain of her high school dance team for two years, served in student government and on the yearbook committee, and was named Miss Jemison 2020 by the graduating senior class.  She also works part time and has carried an impressive 3.65 GPA through high school.

Dominique overcame a rough life at home that was beset by drug and alcohol issues until her grandparents stepped in to raise her and her siblings.  As Dominique writes, “they taught us that we were not products of our surroundings, that we had a choice and that we could make it in life through education, hard work and dedication.”

We are proud of her and her accomplishments and proud to have her in the Trajectory family of students.  We cannot wait to see her shine at Alabama State.

CONGRATULATIONS DOMINIQUE!!
