2019 – Ka’Najah W

2019 Scholarship Recipient – Ka’Najah W

We are proud to announce Ka’Najah W is the 2019 winner of the Trajectory Foundation Scholarship. Ka’Najah graduated from Bethel High School in Hampton, Virginia in June with a 3.92 GPA and will be attending North Carolina A&T to major in Nursing.

Ka’Najah’s high school Anatomy teacher wished she could have “a classroom full of Ka’Najahs” because of how disciplined she is and how well she worked with her classmates. Ka’Najah has has already proven that her discipline and hard work pays off. She has already earned her Certified Nurse Assistant license while in her junior year of high school and has continued this path in her senior year and will earn her license as an Emergency Medical Technician this month. She also served on the Student Council at Bethel High School and was the senior class treasurer. On top of all this, Ka’Najah works almost 30 hours per week at a local grocery store.

Ka’Najah comes from a strong family unit forged from difficult circumstances. She was raised by a single mother. Her and her family persevered through her father’s incarceration for the first 12 years of her life. Her uncle and grandparents played a vital role in her life, and her mother made sure she had an ongoing positive relationship with her dad through consistent visits. Ka’Najah’s support system and her hard work have allowed her to persevere and excel.

We are so proud to have her in the growing family of Trajectory Foundation scholarship winners. We look forward to seeing her grow and succeed in the coming years at North Carolina A&T.
